Design And Research For Embedded Streaming Media System Based On Intel PXA270 Platform

This paper was written with the background of the combination of three technologies including the network, streaming media and applications of embedded system, and an Embedded Streaming media system solution was presented based on the basical theory and characters of the three technologies. In the first part of this paper, a summary of the background knowledge of streaming media was given, and then related problems of the transmit of streaming media including the theory, implementation and format of the streaming media files were discussed. Against the real-time transmit of streaming media problems, the protocols as Real-Time Protocol (RTP) and Real-Time Control Protocol (RTCP) were investigated. From the OS applied in the work of this paper, the embedded operating system Windows CE was analyzed, the general development method of Windows CE was given and BootLoader for Window CE was studied. And also the constructure and applications of the embedded hardware platform Intel PXA270 used in this paper were investigated.On the research in the theory of embedded system development, the designing procedure of the BootLoader for Windows CE was studied in this paper. While on the development of application programs, an Embedded Streaming media system based on the embedded soft/hardware platform and technology of Microsoft Windows Media was developed to implement the function of online A/V broadcasting. Against real-time A/V streaming media transmit problems, a solution for Embedded Streaming media transmition was designed based on RTP/RTCP, development process of embedded softwares and the applications of related development tools.
