Design And Realization Of Antenna Far-Field Special Test System

This paper researches a special antenna automatic test system for a radar antenna test task. It introduces the actuality and developed trend of the same type test system in China and other countries. It explains the measurement principle and far-field measurement method of radar antenna, key technology of this test system.As the characteristics and test specification of the Radar, based on analysis carefully, the system uses the GPIB interface Virtual Instrument structure and radio data transmission technique. LabVIEW7 Express program environment is applied to write application program of communication, control, measurement software of antenna automatic test system. The test system is able to measurement radiation pattern of antenna amplitude, and also calculates other antenna parameters by antenna radiation pattern. This test system can remote equipments and collect measurement data in a wireless mode, it is used to test middle and large size, high power, pulsed Radar antenna.Finally, the actual test results are obtained. The actual result presents that the system design and software achievement are reasonable, the system measuring result is correct and the designed technical specifications is achieved, and it provides the reliable method for completing the radar antenna test task.
