The airborne PD radars are a kind of radar that of great importance. This paper mainly deals with the simulation of the airborne PD radars in the case of look-down mode with focus on the simulation and cancellation of clutter.In this paper, the ground clutter is generated by dividing the iso-range ring into many scattering units. The influence of the beam pointing on the central Doppler frequency of main lobe and the influences of the beam width, the velocity of plane, the transmitting wavelength and the scanning of antenna on the width of main lobe clutter are analyzed along with that of the range ambiguity, Doppler ambiguity and the matched filter. And the clutter cancellation model is presented based on the clutter model discussed above.In this paper, a signal processing model for an airborne fire control radar system with M-PRF is discussed, and some simulation results are given which illustrating the operating principles of such system. The validity of such system is approved by comparing the simulation results with the theory.
