With the development of CAD / CAM technology, the design of molding technological equipments on composite component and aircraft has employed the same design environment. Specific to problems of difficult designing and lowly efficiency in aircraft composite component transition die, composite component transition die design in CAD is researched, so that a composite component transition die CAD system is implemented to guide aviation enterprises to complete the rapid design of composite component transition die and improve design efficiency. The work summarized as follows:The reference plane generation algorithm of composite components molding transition die is presented. In order to guarantee mold release and avoid interference in the processing of the transition die molding surface, interfere checking and the corresponding reference plane adjusting algorithms are designed.The automatic generation algorithm for bottom contour of transition die is designed, which based on the projection line on the reference plane for outer contour of product formed surface, adopted genetic algorithms to strike the min-area bounding box, and then formed an isometric bottom contour curve of mold body.Parametric designing method based on characteristics was proposed to develop parametric designing algorithms for parts of transition die, so that the CAD system for composite component molding transition die is implemented. A design example shows that the system has reached the purpose of development.
