Virtual Plant simulates the growing process of plants in Three-Dimension Space on the computer, and reflects the morphological architecture rules of plants visually. In recent years, with the development of the information technology, the modeling on visualization technology of virtual plant growth is gradually becoming an active field in multi-disciplinary research, which draws widespread concern of the experts in multi-field. Especially when the computer graphics is introduced, Virtual Plant has a broader development.However, how to achieve the plant growth simulation under the influence of environmental factors on the computer is a hot problem of virtual plant modeling. It is a problem that the interactions between the plant and the environment are quite complicated and there are many factors involved which make it difficult to find a mathematical model to describe the interactions.This paper mainly studies on the light environment from many environmental factors, which is very important to plant growth. It researches the relationships between the plant and the light environment, and visually simulates the dynamically interactive effects between the plant growth and the light environment. The major work is as follows:①This paper studies on the theory and the application of the plant visualization modeling, and inspects the research status and the achieving methods of the virtual plant growth at home and abroad.②This paper studies on the environments that the plant grows in and the influences of the environment on the plant from the view of plant physiology, and analyses the features of environmental factors'effect.③The influence of light factor on plant is deeply researched. There are mainly two effects of light on plant growth, indirect effect and direct effect. The photosynthesis is the indirect one while the photomorphogenesis is the direct one. This paper mainly focuses on the photomorphogenesis effect.④Based on the various plant modeling methods and the features of plant physiology, this paper proposes the dynamically interactive system framework and the achieving model between plant growth and light factor. The feasibility and the efficiency of the system are explored from each aspect and we realize it finally with programming.⑤The phenomenon that the common light affects the plant is visually simulated based on the interactive system mentioned above. Finally, this paper summarizes the work of the whole study and proposes the future work.
