In recent years, the modeling on visualization technology of virtual plant growth is gradually becoming an interdisciplinary field, which attracts biologists, application botanists, mathematicians and computer scientists'universal concern. Especially when the computer graphics is imported, it provides a broader development space for the plant modeling.However, how to achieve the plant growth simulation under the influence of environmental factors on the computer is a hot problem of computer graphics simulation with special difficulties, mainly in the complicated interactions between the plants and the environment and there are many factors involved which makes it difficult to find a mathematical model to describe the interactions. Currently, the open-L system is generally used to simulate this interaction.This dissertation explores the relationships between the plant and the environments mainly from the plant modeling under the influence of environmental factors. The major works are as follows:①This dissertation studies on the theory significance and application domain of plant visualization modeling, inspects the research status and the achieving methods of the virtual plant growth at home and abroad, and aggregates the plant visualization software which developed domestic and foreign.②The dissertation analyzes the relationships between plant and the environments deeply, makes a survey of the influences of light, water and temperature on plant growth, analyzes the features of environmental factors'effect, and abstracts the plant and the environment interaction model: the interaction between the plant and the environment can be seen as a causal link to the event sequence. The plant receives stimulation; information in some form is processed and transmitted; then plant responses; this response reacts to the environment, leads to the adjustment of the environment, which in turn affects plants.③Plant growth model under the environmental factors influence is researched. This dissertation discusses the normal model of the crop development, and analyzes the plant growth model affected by light, temperature and moisture.④Propose a new sound framework which set other plants modeling methods to achieve environmental factors influence plant modeling with L-systems, called OLPlants System. OLPlants uses objects management system model and the plant morphology model. And the plant model using crop growth normal model is built and the environmental factors on plant growth is considered. In the simulation, the scene are divide as several layers to improve simulating efficiency. A rough rendering layer are demonstrated when the scene is far from the viewpoint and the details required low.⑤the experiment was carried by L-studio to test the OLPlants framework, and OLPlants system prototype was realized. Finally, summarize the work of the whole dissertation and propose the future work.
