The application field of virtual plant is very wide, and it can be used in 3D animation production, construction of the overall environmental planning, landscape design and plant layout aerospace simulation technology. It is also very important to the study of agriculture. While there is a lot of energy which is inputted to the study of plant modeling and rendering algorithm, but in a rather long period of time, texture mapping is still an important method of the film and television, advertising, games and virtual reality. 3D simulation of plant is still a problem. This task is a sub subject in the project of"Virtual water of Taihu Lake". The important content of this paper is the simulation of the environment-sensitive virtual plants.L system is one of the main arithmetic which is to simulate virtual plants. It reflects the plant character of parallel growth. L system is in wide use and is very well to describe the fractal structure. But the express method is not very well to find the logic relationship. If the traditional L system wants to realize the influence of the environment when the environment-sensitive plants is simulated, environment gene must be set firstly, but the environment gene which is set beforehand is not very well to realize the simulation of the nature, and the efficiency is very low. This paper changes the storage structure of L system and designs a new structure which is based on binary tree for L system. This method simplifies the process of context search and improves the efficiency of time and space in the process of growth simulation and dynamic simulation of environment impact. It is very important for the simulation of environment-sensitive plants, and with better scalability...
