Nowadays we have entered a new era of information networks. Computer networks are necessarily available to the public and should be made good use of. Information resources development should be speeded up to achieve resources sharing so that we can better serve the electricity production, power construction and technical development. Based on participating in the whole process of project application, system development, system testing and project statement, the author of this paper analyzes and studies the development technology of Information Resources Sharing System (hereafter IRSS) in Chongqing Electric Power Corporation. The project of IRSS is based on the actual needs in the Education & Training Centre of Chongqing Electric Power Corporation. Combining distance learning, on-job and skill training together, this system is developed according to the needs of courseware development. On this basis, an internal and relatively professional digital library prototype is established to achieve information sharing.Firstly, the paper gives an analysis on the background of constructing the IRSS and conducts a simple research on the development technology, design approaches and its prospect of application. Moreover, this paper puts forward some ideas of its application and maps out a scheme. On this basis, it analyzes the demand of the system and gives a brief introduction to the basic principles which the system adapts. In addition, the author conducts a further analysis and research. A detailed description is given on how the system uses the selected development technology to design IRSS, including the overall framework, the design of every functional module and database of the system. IRSS adopts ASP development technology. The modular design approach is based on the Browser / Server model of N-tier structure, with the use of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 of Windows platform at the back-end. On the basis of the first application after the completion of the project, a functional test on each part of the system is conducted and the detailed process and result of the test is presented in the paper.The author presents a detailed instruction on the installation and management of IRSS so that the users can quickly get familiar with it and operate it in a proficient and convenient way. The project of IRSS has been audited and approved by Science & Technology Management Department of Chongqing Electric Power Corporation with the item No. 26# issued by [ 2007 CQEP Sci&Tech]. The system is now officially in use. It is easily operated and in good situation. During the operation, a further improvement and supplements are continuously made on the forms and contents.IRSS makes full use of the company's network resources advantages and it provides a convenient platform in an organized and systematic way for the employee's access to information. This paper is concluded with the technical principles, key technology and innovation of the system. It introduces the development and practical application and gives us new prospects of the future development of the system.
