Agent market of book copyright(AMBC) has always been considered as a necessary part of publication market,and the prosperity of copyright trade is also closely related to it.comparing the domestic AMBC to that of the foreign markets, it is easy to find that AMBC firstly appeared in the west,then it was transferred to China.Concerning the macro-environment system and the market mechanism,with the development of market economy(ME) in the west,the enhancement of national awareness of copyright,credit,brokers,property right and the improvement of laws and regulations related to AMBC,social condition and related policies and regulations have met the needs for the development of AMBC in the west and the market mechanism(MM) worked well.While in China the MM is not effective,the reasons are stated as follows:Firstly,related policies and regulations are out-of-date and not well executed under the influence of traditional culture and planned economic system:Secondly,systems related to ME need setting up or improving, such as credit system,brokerage system,etc.Thirdly,the ME itself is not well developed now.As for the Micro-market factors,After comparison and analysis I find there is an obvious distance between the domestic and foreign markets on the producers(authors and copyright agents) and the consumers(publishers).In the comparison of copyright agent object,subsidiary copyrights trade is booming in the west,but in China the exploitability of subsidiary rights is still at the very beginning.Copyright agencies and its stuff in the west play an big role in the communication between authors and publishers.Moreover,it is common for authors and publishers to authorize an copyright agent to conduct copyright trade.However, it is an unarguable fact that it is blank in this area in China.Now that we realize the gap between us,we should learn from them so that we can catch up with them in the future.With the development of the international copyright trade,more and more foreign copyright agents will come here.Our AMBC will be involved in heat international competition,and it is an important turning point full of risks and opportunities for our AMBC.Well,through the research of the west,combining the fact of our own,comparing the development path between the west and our own,here I would like to give some advice on mechanism innovation,I hope they can bring more good theories on it.
