With individual need from client and increasing function in ship crane, high-powered (e.g. speedy correspond, true speed control, steady machine movement, decreasing dynamic load ) control system is desired. In ship crane, control system is complex , executive machine is bulkiness, so characteristic of control object is non-linear, great delay, without accurate mathematics model. Traditional control mode has some obvious shortcomings when it comes to a nonlinear project or a project that cannot be set up an accurate formula. A new control strategy called Fuzzy-PID is devised in this paper.In this paper, the research object is electro-hydraulic proportional valve. The control object is speed of main windlass for hoist in ship crane. According to the control system, model of PID control, Fuzzy control and Fuzzy-PID have been established. Then with the help of the function of Simulink in MATLAB, simulation curves have been obtained. An analysis based on these curves has been made. The program of Fuzzy-PID is compiled in PLC which is used construction machinery wholly. The program of Fuzzy-PID is tested in sample crane.Compared with other control strategies, Fuzzy-PID control that used in the paper has some obvious advantages. It has a faster response speed, more steady state, and a lower exceed quantity. The test explains that the boom dynamic load is decreased, the peak value of hydraulic pressure is decreased, main hoist speed steady time is decreased.
