Flood Hazard Map Information Visualization Research Based On ArcGIS Engine

Flood Hazard Map is the hydraulic characteristics signal diagram on floodplain when suffers exceeding standard flood disaster. It reflects the criticality of floodplain when exceeding standard flood occurs and is an important method for non-engineering measures against flood disasters. So flood Hazard Map information is very important for flood control and disaster reduction. However, flood Hazard Map can't provide systemic and abundant information. Hence, for systematically and conveniently represent abundant information of Flood Hazard Map and satisfy the requirement of information for making flood control planning and disaster relief strategy, this paper researches on the Flood Hazard Map information visualization method based on GIS technology.Based on the summarization of the national and foreign Flood Hazard Map establishment theoretical system, according to the basin geographic characteristics and in order to show systematic and much Flood Hazard Map information for the needs of Flood Hazard Map information visualizes, uses ArcGIS Engine components secondary development technology and the convenient development environment of C#, designs and realizes the basin Flood Hazard Map information visualization system. Flood disaster loss information is one of the main information that Flood Hazard Map expresses, but it can not be obtained directly from flood risk analysis and calculation. In order to effectively analyses and estimate the loss caused by flood disaster, spatial analysis function of ArcGIS and flood disaster loss analysis and calculation model are employed to estimate and visualize the flood disaster loss information. For realizing data sharing and satisfying the requirement of information visualization in larger range, Flood Hazard Map information visualization system that has been set up is issued and demonstrated in Internet network. The Internet platform is founded with ActiveX control technology, displays Flood Hazard Map information on LAN and WAN, and is also applies to the research on the establishment of Flood Hazard Map of Liaohe River left bank. Application researches results in Flood Hazard Map establishment research shows that the information visualization based on GIS can provide systematic and abundant Flood Hazard Map information, and has great practical significance for valley modern management and flood disaster plan establishment.
