Design And Implementation Of Communication Switching Platform Based On MPC860 And VxWorks

Embedded system is a kind of application-specific computer system with special functions, it combines with communication and network technology can enhance the intelligence and flexibility of communication device, and extends communication functions. It is attempt to meet demand in development requirement of Telephone Switching System Project, thus this thesis proposes a technical scheme to realize the communication switching platform's hardware and BSP, which is based on MPC860T communication processor and VxWorks embedded operation system. This platform is not only suitable for the Telephone Switch System Project, but also can be easily applied to the development of network communication devices such as routers and Ethernet switches.The concerning issue that relate to the construct of communication switching platform's hardware system can be divided into two parts: MPC860T main circuit and peripheral control design. The former comprises many things, such as power control, startup and reset, clock, debug port, SDRAM and FLASH. The latter includes Ethernet, RS232 interfaces and related control functions. This thesis also put forward the entire plan to customize the VxWorks operation system on the basis of hardware platform, all of which are compiling system bootrom code, transplanting serial and network device driver program and building TFFS file system on FLASH device. All of these technical schemes can be regarded as technical reference for the design of MPC860T and VxWorks embedded system.Combining with the technical scheme above, this thesis also introduces the process of system test. The system testing and practice proves that the platform works well and achieves the design requirement.A summary is thus given accordingly, and it also suggests to studying further on this platform such as upgrading CPU and debugging the bootrom code with BDM emulator.
