With the development of electronic information technology, computer technology and microelectronics technology, the embedded system has become more and more mature and completed, and has been widely developed and applied in the field of industry and life. The development and application of the embedded system has become the emerging power to promote the development of the national economy.VxWorks operating system is an embedded real-time operating system(RTOS) designed and developed by River Wind. With its high reliability, excellent real-time performance, wide applicability and flexibility, VxWorks has been widely applied to communications, military, aerospace and other high-tech and real-time fields whose requirements are very high. VxWorks meets great favor among the programmers as it provides efficient real-time multi-task scheduling, interrupt management and real-time management of system resources and real-time communication. Data communication is a new technology, which is a combination of communication technology and computer technology. In the development of information technology, the application of the third generation mobile communication is becoming higher and higher.In recent years, fault diagnosis problem of communication lines in a complicated environment follows with the expansion of the communication network coverage. At present, most of the communication lines are used in the construction of underground, but in actual use communication lines are often broken or disturbanced because of natural disasters, man-made destruction, environmental change, malicious damage. How to find the location of the fault point rapidly and accurately is the key to the communication optical cable fault. This thesis comes from the project of fiber disturbance location based on frequency modulated continuous wave disturbance positioning design in the engineering background of communication line disturbance positioning system. In order to design the communication module, according to the characteristics of the disturbance positioning system communication module and function requirements, this thesis adopts S3C2440 A development board as hardware platform, and developes driver for Ethernet chip DM9000 which applied in VxWorks embedded real-time operating system, so that data acquisition module and the upper machine can realize real-time, accurate and high speed Ethernet communication based on TCP/IP protocol.This thesis mainly finished the following work:(1) According to the requirements of the project of fiber disturbance location, thesis first designs the overall scheme of the communication module of the disturbed positioning system using VxWorks embedded operating system;(2) Secondly it studies the main process of embedded system to realize the network data communication and implementation method, and develops END network driver for network chip DM9000;(3) At last it completes the VxWorks operating system transplant based on ARM920 T BSP, sets up the software and hardware debugging environment and carries on the test and verification under client-server mode.
