After entering the 21st century, the rapid development of em bedded computer systems is the most important in the Computer Te chnology field. Products based on embedded system technology are very close to everybody's lives. Kinds of embedded products, especi ally having operating system support, have begun to become the m ajor communication and information processing tools. And it is grad ually forming a tremendous business opportunity.The research project has determined to take embedded comm unications gateway as a background application. And it takes achiev ing a multi-system (Linux and Vxworks) communications platform f or the target. It is necessary to complete a practical hardware experi ment platform that meets the basic functions of the network control center application. It can work in Vxworks and Linux operating sy stem with ARM-based processor platform. We can switch different s ystems in accordance with the experiment requirements. Firstly, we must port Linux operation system and implement the multi-platform options Bootloader processing functions. At the same time, we mus t finish device driver modules and, in particular, achieve a variety of booting parameters between bootloader and kernel space. It has i ncreased more flexibility.In the paper text, it pays attention to what the design aims, wh at the design schemes about the hardware and software are, how su ccessful these schemes are and the result of the last test is.
