For the pervading and syncretizing of broadcast, television and computer technology, research on digital TV terminal which is applied to personal computer has sprung up. The receiver is simple which is designed for TV with the basis of USB2.0 protocol, and power supply is not necessary. There is such merit as light, smart, portable and so on as well. With mini antenna, it is particularly suitable for portable computer.In the system by which Digital TV service can be enjoyed on PC, tuner and demodulator is implemented by hardware module. Transport stream from receiver will be sent to the host, and then is taken charge by application. The application will display the program, and some other services can be implemented as well. Based on the study of DVB-T standards and Microsoft TV technology, chip DIBCOM7700 and its scheme which is supplied by the DiBcom Company in France is selected as hardware platform, and application for Microsoft Windows is developed on it.Based on the study of Microsoft Broadcast Driver Architecture, the structure of the application is designed. The application is independent of hardware, and it's transplantable. Function modules as channel scan, Electronic Program Guide, recording and program schedule have been implemented. Concerning channel scan and EPG, the program database is designed based on Document Object Model. Encapsulation of interface which is uniform for access has been completed. For the processing of the real time data flow, a filter for recording has been implemented. It can save relevant video and audio streams. Both watching notification and recording schedule are implemented in program schedule. With the policy of priority for schedule tasks, collision in schedule is avoided.In the end, the system is tested. The results show that the functions of application are completely achieved. Fluent program can be enjoyed. Weekly program parade can be supplied by Electronic Program Guide.
