Research On IPSec Protocol Testing Technology And ESP Protocol Conformance Test Suite Implementation

The purpose of protocol testing is to ensure the protocol implementation executed steadily and reliably according the protocol specification. Protocol testing contain many kinds of testing technology, the protocol conformance testing is the basis of the other parts. The purpose of conformance testing is to find out where the protocol implementation that does not agree with the protocol description.This paper analysis the protocol testing technology and the IPSec protocol in detail. Then give the main planning about the three important parts of the IPSec testing suite. The performance testing suite based on the characteristics that the protocol performence unrelated to the protocol text. So the performance testing suite integrated the main application of the IPSec protocol to design the test case. The existing compatibility testing method is too simple. In this paper, we improve the testing case on the basis of existing testing method. Integrate the long time test case and the high pressing test case into the compatibility testing suite to make it more useful. The IPSec protocol conformance test is the emphasis of this paper. This paper discussed in detail about the conformance test system architecture, the general test suite, the abstract test suite and the TTCN-3 language. Use the TTCN-3 language to implement the ESP protocol conformance test suite. This paper discusses the maintainability and scalability of the IPSec protocol test suite and provides some experience and views of the author. Conbined the classical software testing and the protocol testing to make the test cases more useful and more variable.
