Nowadays, data warehouse and OLAP technique have been widely used in mobile communication work, providing a platform on which network maintenance workers daily operate, as well fulfilling the decision requirement of the company managers. How to improve the efficiency of system data supply and inquiry? It becomes a key to evaluate the quality of a data warehouse. The most popular method to improve data warehouse system performance is to upgrade the hardware level. This method can improve the performance in some level, but it needs to purchase more and better hardware, increasing the cost of work, as well it abandons and wastes much old equipment. So it is required in data warehouse performance optimization that we use some"soft optimization method"on"hard optimization".The factors that affect data warehouse are analyzed and studied roundly in this paper, including"hard optimization"and"soft optimization". On one hand,"hard optimization"means the fact that the constitution theory and the system framework of a server is the basic of system performance, on the other hand, the soft environment of the system, such as Index technique, Partition based on RAID technique, Inquiry Optimization technique and Parallel System Architecture technique etc. can maximize the efficiency of hardware usage. The two factors correlate and complement each other. Because of the differences and characteristics in varied profession application, the selection of optimization method should depend upon its particular application background and environment.The material operation of mobile communication network optimization is analyzed in this paper. Furthermore, this paper summarized the application characteristic of data warehouse in mobile communication network optimization system. This paper studied some important theories and acts much practical work. The main works are discussed as follow:1. This paper studied the effect of data warehouse application in mobile communication network optimization system, based on the understanding the theory and content of mobile communication network optimization.2. This paper studied the performance optimization theory of data warehouse and analyzed the effect of hardware technique and architecture on the system performance, and drew a"soft"optimization solution"of the data warehouse design and the multi-dimensional data storage method.3. This paper practiced the effect of various techniques on data warehouse performance, making the Drive Test Data Warehouse as the example. With the application characteristics thought, this paper summarized several optimization techniques, and made a final optimization solution. 4. This paper combined the thought of distributed and paralleled system architecture and cluster technology, and tried to apply the Distributed and Paralleled Architecture on data warehouse application. As a result, this architecture is implemented on Drive Test data warehouse successfully.These above research achievements applied to mobile communication network optimization platform project of the Hebei Mobile Communication Company, and made a good performance improvement though the optimization process. From the response of users, the system works steadily in working environment, so it is concluded that the thesis on the research accomplishments is practical and feasible.
