With the rapid development of the digital trunking communication technology, more and more areas begin to use digital trunking communication system for scheduling, directing, digital trunking terminals has a very broad market. Many abroad companies have developed a series of mature products, but the prices of these terminals are expensive. Besides, there are more and higher demands in special fields, a terminal which only has communication function is unable to meet the increasing demand from Customers. In this situation, a kind of digital trunking communication terminal with a smart operating system, and can continue to upgrade the application of is born.Embedded operating system is an important component of the intelligent digital trunking communication terminal. Intelligent operating system based on the terminal can connect different external devices to achieve some special features to meet the customers' needs. How to manage these external devices and drivers in the operating system have become very important.First of all, this paper introduced the technology background of the digital trunking communications, and some hardware interface in the embedded system. Then, it described the TETRA digital trunking communications terminal software and hardware structure, the management and the driver of the external equipment. Digital trunking communications smart terminal use WinCE system and it have a serial port, Bluetooth interface and USB interface to facilitate the expansion module. Bluetooth headset via Bluetooth interface connected with the system, and GSM modules connect to the system through the serial port. Based on the analysis of the two modules' driver method, this paper completed the structural design, and the detailed design of every module. Finally, it's the coding and testing for the drivers, and testing results show that the driver has to meet the demand.
