With the development of Smart Home,wiring device will bring some difficulties to home networking and home business. Wireless connection can provide solution, so wireless technique develops very fast in these years. Home gateway plays an important roles in Smart Home, it connect local area network and home network which is composed of Information Appliances, various sensors, PC and related peripheral equipments, etc. So devices in home network to access the Internet implements information share, remote control, centralized management etc, which change the status that home is an isolated information island in the Internet age. Bluetooth is an inexpensive and short-range wireless communication technology used among fixed or mobile digital equipments and can replace wires among home appliances. Bluetooth technology caters for these characteristics of home network, is applicable for smart home networking.First of all, this dissertation analyzes existing state of bluetooth technology development, main problems of bluetooth and bluetooth applications. After that this dissertation analyzes current state of embedded home gateway development. On the base of that, this dissertation summarizes the existing state of bluetooth home gateway. Because bluetooth technique and embedded system are basic technique of this dissertation, so this dissertation specially analyzes technical characters of bluetooth, embedded systems and embedded operating systems, and introduce hierarchy structure of bluetooth protocol stack and embedded development in detail.Secondly, this dissertation studies scenario of bluetooth access internet, mainly analyzes two cases, i.e. LAN access point (LAP) and personal area network (PAN). Especially, it analyzes and studies implementation of LAP based on desktop Linux, builds the base of LAP under embedded system.Thirdly, this dissertation concretely presents hardware and software design of embedded bluetooth gateway. For the hardware design, this dissertation detailedly introduces main circuit units and S5N8947 MCU,and how to establish the development environment. For the software design, this dissertation presents complete stack frame of bluetooth gateway, host control interface (HCI), logical link control and adaptation protocol (L2CAP),RFCOMM protocol, service discovery protocol (SDP), point to point protocol (PPP),and presents the implementation, detail about state machines and functions of bluetooth protocol stack layers.Finally, a summarization is produced, and also discusses the future work.
