A Study On The Development Model Of Digital Trunking Network In China Satcom

The paper researches the development model of digital trunking network in China Satcom.As one of the two major "refocusing" strategic business of China Satcom, digital trunking business plays vital role in the future development of China Satcom, especially for its terrestrial telecommunications business. Since China Satcom developed digital trunking business in 2003, it has adopted the development model of commercial common network, and operated technical trials and commercial operations on the iDEN, GOTA and GT800 technology system in 3 cities respectively, but neither the customers' response nor the profits is ideal.Combined with the past five years' experience in digital trunking business, the paper firstly reanalyzes the market orientation of digital trunking business in China Satcom, then makes comparison among various technical systems combined with its market orientation, and finally makes an economic analysis on different development models according to the market orientation and technical system.The paper divides the original digital trunking common network model into two specified models: business common network model and government affairs common network model. It points out that the government affairs shared network model, which adopts TRTRA technical system and is governmental market-oriented, is the appropriate development model for digital trunking business of China Satcom as it can grantee both social benefit and enterprises' economic returns.
