It is not convenient to store and transmit the digital video data whose quantum is great. As a result the research of digital video data compression technology is urgent for its application value and people's demand.This paper proposed and adopted real-time hardware coding scheme which takes VW2010 as its core, based on technical requirements of the project and characteristics of multi-path video coding system, and realized multi-path TS stream synthesis based on FPGA. Initialization, configuration and control of VW2010 and its peripheral circuits were implemented by ARM chip LPC2214 and the ARM/Intel timing converting circuits in FPGA. Moreover, circuits of main sub-modules were designed, and especially the corresponding schematic and multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) were realized. After analysis of communication mechanism between VW2010 and host chip, we compiled the program of FLASH resident data, micro-code loading program, TS guiding and configuring program in connection with VW2010. Finally, main parts of stream synthesis, such as filtration of PSI, reconstruction of PAT&PMT and correction of PCR were devised and realized. Especially, simulations of key stream synthesis functional modules in Modelsim 6.2b were finished.Simulation and debugging results show that the system has met the requirement of project. Video signal coding in MPEG-4 criteria and its output in TS mode were implemented. Furthermore, the synthesis for six paths TS data was achieved. It has been proved that the design scheme, methods and result presented in this thesis are feasible and practical.
