Design Of An Intelligentized Dashboard System For Vehicles Based On Windows CE

Vehicle dashboard is an interface between driver and car to communicate. And it is an important part in the profundity of vehicle technology. Recent years, the development of vehicle dashboard based on embedded operating system has been attached importance. An intelligentized vehicle dashboard system based on the embedded controller and embedded operating system has been designed in this thesis, the whole system is composed by suitable software and hardware platforms.Firstly, hardware platform has been constructed. In the design of an embedded system, ARM controller is always our best choice used as the core in hardware platform. In this thesis, we choose S3C2410, which is a 16 bit RISC processor produced by Samsung, to control the hardware platform of the vehicle dashboard system. S3C2410 adopts the kernel of ARM920T, it can offer solutions like low-price, low-wastage, high-performance for handsets and usual use. The whole hardware part of the system is constructed by S3C2410 and its periphery devices, these devices include SDRAM, FLASH, A/V interface card, SD card, LCD andSecondly, software platform has been realized. Considering the speciosity of the dashboard interface and the real-time capability, we choose Windows CE operating system as the core of this part. We use Platform Builder to develop and customize a Windows CE which is satisfied for the project. After then, design and add drivers for each device of the hardware part. In the end, we use EVC to develop applications such as the dashboard interface.Finally, vehicle information can be conveyed to the hardware platform through CAN bus, ARM processor control and take order with these information, then display them to the dashboard interface after they go across the software platform.
