The Design And Realization Of Wireless Network Monitoring System

Recent years, with the social demand and the technical of wireless communication, WLAN technique is developing forward with strongly trend. WLAN has many distinct features, such as mobility, flexibility and easy deployment. All the characteristics promote itself development. However, the data of the transmission in the WLAN are radiating in the sky by the wireless electric wave, it can be received by any WLAN terminal within range of the transmission. Therefore, during the development of WLAN, the security problem seems to be important. Thus for the sake of the better use, design, installation, maintenance and management of WLAN, it's very necessary to have a convenient and strong test tool.This paper designs a WLAN monitoring systems which has tested in wireless networks of my laboratory. First, this paper described the current situation of the development of wireless LAN in domestic and foreign. Also, it details the background of the topics, the key technology of the wireless LAN, the main standards and the most common standard IEEE802.11. All of them provide theoretical support and Application prospects for the design of wireless LAN monitoring system;Secondly, the paper details the system architecture of the wireless LAN monitoring. On the basis of the system architecture, it details several functional modules of the monitoring system, and focused on the wireless LAN packet capture and protocol analysis modules. In terms of software, it briefs the use of Winpcap, researches the Principle of WinPcap packet capture and details implementation process of the functional modules of the system. In VC++6.0 environment, it develop a wireless network monitoring system, and give the main software flow chart of functional modules realization. And also, there is some source code;Finally, test it in wireless environment of the laboratory. The experimental results obtained were analyzed. There is also a summary about the results of the system test. It Analysis the lack of the WLAN monitoring system, notes the development direction of the WLAN monitoring system.
