In recent years, due to the development of communication systems in the trend of miniaturization, large capability, multi-function and intelligence, the research of multi-frequency and broadband micro-strip antenna has become a hot point. Fractal technology has been adopted in adjusting the structure of patch to spread the band of antenna in order to deal with the problem of micro-strip antenna drawback of narrowband and satisfy the demand of multiple frequency telecommunication in this paper.In this paper, it's summarized that the methods of theoretical analysis of micro-strip antenna, main research direction of multi-frequency and broadband technology firstly. And it's briefly introduced the characteristics of micro-strip antenna and feed technology and a number of traditional analysis methods of micro-strip antenna. Secondly it's also introduced the rationale of fractal, some common structures of fractal and fractal antenna base on fractal theory. Because of the shape self-similarity property of fractal antennas between part to whole and part to part, it's easy to implement the design of Sierpinski fractal antenna which has excellent characteristic multi-frequency.A novel square micro-strip fractal patch antenna is discussed in this paper. Typical traits has been studied in two conditions, which the iteration is from inside to outside and the inverse manner. The latter condition is analyzed in detail which showed the rule that syntony point changes according to iterative number of times, which is accomplished by electromagnetism simulation software CST. In addition, it's discussed several important factors that have effect on bandwidth of micro-strip antenna by simulation and it's also showed that the bandwidth could be spreaded by enlarging the ratio of width and length of antenna, increasing the thickness of dielectric substrates, or increasing the tangent dielectric loss angle, or decreasing the relative dielectric constant of dielectric.
