With the development and improvement of communication technology, all circles of the society pay more and more attention to that if the signal can use an antenna receives a plurality of frequency bands. This technique was applied to more mobile devices, generally by the microstrip antenna form as the basis for the research and design. The main advantages of the microstrip antenna are miniaturized, lightweight, low profile, easy conformal with the carrier. It is widely used in the design of the antenna. This thesis will study the microstrip antenna, which has the advantages of miniaturization, multi frequency characteristic.Printed monopole microstrip patch antenna and taper microstrip antenna depend on its reasonable antenna structure layout and excellent properties, and the taper antenna bandwidth demanding that ultra wideband transmission has become a research hotspot in recent years. In order to get good results, microstrip line structure design of slot line for microstrip transmission line to the taper antenna and processing material based on analyzing and summarizing of several microstrip balun antenna used by Barron.The multi band printed monopole microstrip antenna and ultra wideband balun antenna were studied in the thesis. Two kinds of comparatively novel microstrip antenna were designed by using electromagnetic simulation design software HFSS 12, CST Microwave Studio and CST Design Studio to conduct in-depth analysis.The multi frequency Monopole Microstrip antenna was studied in this thesis. Combined with the proposed International Telecommunication Union Committee on standard 4G and WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks) standard specification technology, tri band monopole microstrip antenna that worked in the 4G and WLAN networks was analyzed and designed. It has a wide cover band and good omnidirectional radiation. The final experimental results show that Monopole Microstrip Patch antenna has good performance of multi-bandUltra wideband transmission symmetric broadside slot microstrip antenna structure is analyzed. Transmission line used as the tapered slot antennas, its performance characteristics is a starting point, a microstrip with elliptic, semicircular structure open circuited microstrip slotline balun antenna bandwidth from 0.53 GHz to 6GHz is put forward and designed by using the traditional FR-4 material, wide slot line and stub matching technology. It have many characteristics, including low price, the allowable error and short circuit etc. Compared with the use of expensive Rogers material significantly, the use of FR-4 material reduces the production cost. High characteristic impedance caused the slotted line wide matching problem was solved by the following three ways. The double symmetrical structure reduces the characteristic impedance of slot line; presents an oval slotted line structure and the 1.5elliptical microstrip lines provide good impedance matching; multi section impedanceconverter for high impedance matching from the transition to the normalized characteristic impedance of 50 ohms. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the design and optimization method. The design requirements has achieved.
