With the increasing demand for the speed of computing, the number of computing nodes in HPC continually increases accordingly, traditional electrical interconnection network thus produces a series of problems, e.g. low bandwidth, high delay and high power consumption etc. First of all, the problems of electrical interconnection and advantages of optical interconnection are analyzed. On the basis of a deep study and comprehensive understanding of some of the proposed optical interconnection network architecture, two new optical interconnection network topologies are proposed. One of which (RTOIN) is a combination of optical ring and torus, and the other (LROIN) is based on layered rings. Both have very good scalability.Architecture RTOIN is based on optical ring and torus, which combines the attractive features of optical ring and torus. Since WDM is used, in each of an optical ring, the hop between any of 2 nodes is only 1, the delay is decreased in some degree; Torus makes RTOIN architecture has good physical properties such as const node degree, small network diameter and easy to scale etc. WDM and TDM are used in RTOIN, the wavelength allocateion scheme is also described. All these guarantee that RTOIN is a strictly non-block network. Comparations are made between RTOIN and some other architectures. The results show that RTOIN has better properties. Then some experiments are made to verify the good property of network delay. At last, the structures of the components composing the network i.e. processing elements and switching elements are described. As RTOIN architecture, the layered ring optical interconnection network (LROIN) architecture also bases on optical rings. By using layered ring architecture, on one hand, WDM can be used in different rings and different layers; On the other hand, this architecture makes for the the scalability of the system. The comparasion with some other networks shows that, some of the properties such as node degree, network diameter and avergage message distance etc. are better.
