With the development of the society, the automation machines for movement control are widely used. They can change the work style and process. This thesis discribes the design of the movement control system of sonar. The Q001J PLC which is developped by Mistsbuishi is the main controller. It can control 4 step motors using the movement control module. And the position and angle can be feedbacked via the coder. The user can control the machine via the touch screen of any computer in the network.This thesis instroduces technologies related to the sonar movement control, such as PLC, step motor, servomotor, transducer and industry control GUI.The architecture design including the machine design, hardware design and the software design are introduced. PLC is the main controller, and the step motor, servomotor and transducer are the main components. The popular inductry control GUI is adopted for the easy control of the users.This paper describes electrical system design and the software design in detail. Electrical system contains the PLC and its modules, control box, step moter and its drive, servomotor and its drive, coder and so on. Software design contains software in PLC, touch screen interface, industry computer interface and interface for remote network computer.At last, this thesis gives a summary of the system and some points need be improved.
