Research And Implementation Of Version Control Technology In Process Management

Today, with the rapid development in science and technology, software industry is also developing rapidly. Software process management is an important way of increasing software productivity and ensuring software quality, which is being given more and more attention to in the academic field and industrial field. Meanwhile, new requirements of software configuration management are demanded. Version control is the foundation and core of software configuration management methods; therefore, how to organically combine version control technology with software process management is becoming particularly important.First, this paper introduces the relevant theories and research achievements of process management and version control, analyses the characteristic of version control in process management, especially the key problems of version storage model and conflict solution are studied in this paper. Then by analyzing and researching the version increment storage, a process version increment storage model is put forward which both balance space efficiency and time efficiency. Comparing with many traditional subsequent methods, the combination of lock-and-unlock method with privilege management and the version replication technology are given which can resolve conflict. Then, we apply version control into process management and propose a version control based process management model. The model describes the methods which deal with process version control.Based on the above research works, using J2EE, we give an implementation of the version control based process management platform—PPMS. The system design, the database table design and class design is brought out.
