Version Control In The Cg Project

With the updating development of the techniques of the computer network, digital TV, telecommunication, and the fast growing demands for spiritual and cultural life, CG (Computer Graphics) attracts more and more attention as an important part of the visual media in the cultural industry, and CG producing trade has become an information industry with a large scale. "CG Producing Project Management System" origins from "The research on the key technology of the construction of Shanghai digital media base" which belongs to National 863 Project. This paper mainly studies the revision control of the material of "CG Producing Project Management System".The material of shots, elements in CG producing process is a continuous iterated one in which the production files submitted by producing workers consist of a series of revisions. Version files not only keep the changing process of staff's designing thought, but also guarantees the traceability of CG producing process. Therefore, it is obvious that the convenient and effective revision control counts for much in terms of the CG producing project. Based on specific research on the revision control techniques, this paper analyzes the characteristics of revision control, designs and implement the revision control of "CG Producing Project Management System" with the different granularity of file, component, CG producing task, and meets the needs for the CG producing staff.
