Reporting tools could retrieve useful information from vast quantities of data and present it before administrator or operator vividly and correctly, which contributes to the management, and standardization of the industrial process. With the development of information technology, reporting tool has been playing an increasingly important role in various government departments and enterprises. The design and development of reporting tools has also become a crucial technology in management information systems.The system enables the management and statistics of the investments in fixed assets of industrial enterprises in Jilin Province in a collective, unified, standardized and scientific way. It monitors the investments and presents their up-to-date total figures and distribution condition, as well as the dynamic and timely statistics and analyses of the investment condition of the key projects in the province. The system, which is practically significant, provides a basis for the analysis of economic situation and policy-making.The system adopts Windows XP as the operating system, ASP.NETas a front-end page development tool, C # programming language, SQLServer2005 as a database system, and Windows2003 Server as the recommended server system. It enables the filling in, production, display and printing of a variety of forms by Crystal report. The System could improve the efficiency of the forming of regular statistics, achieve the limited sharing of reported data, and provide technical support for the leadership to make scientific decisions.In the thesis, the elaboration to the research topic is mainly divided into five sections: The first part introduces the purpose and significance of the research, and analyzes the development, the classification and the status quo of report tool at home and abroad. Moreover, it elaborates the characteristics and superiorities of the crystal report. At present, the application of report form system has been widespread in all walks of life. Nevertheless, reporting tools are often not competent enough to meet the complicated demand of their development due to the complexity of the professional process. However, this is exactly the strong point of Crystal Reports. The crystal report form has formidable multi-dimensional statistical and the data analyzing function. Not only does it allow the user to merge and summarize numerous kinds of forms freely, but it also has a variety of documental format transforming functions, which are flexible and convenient. It supports update of data from time to time, a key refresh, making the intellectualized management of report form system possible.The second part of the thesis mainly focuses on the analysis of the main technology of the report form platform. Known in the field as the development platform, Microsoft's .NET platform simplifies the development of the system in Internet environment, being able to create a WEB application more easily. In terms of the development of technology, it provides a database accessing technology—ADO.NET and multiple languages supports. A dynamic web technology based on. NET platform, ASP.NET is a programming framework established on the common language runtime. It can generate powerful Web applications on the server. MVC is a structure software designing pattern, the core of which is to achieve loose coupling of three or multi-tier. The system can separate the represent logic and the business logic with MVC design patterns so as to provide better flexibility and manageability for its development and maintenance. XML technology improves the cross-platform, scalability and normative of systems. Any system can read XML data through XML resolver. As a result, its data can pass around, disregarding whether the system is supportive. The third part is an analysis of the system's demand. Based on sufficient investigation, the demand of the system's function is generalized and sorted out. The methods and principles used to design and develop fixed assets management system on network environment are established. The design of the functions and the main service flows are carried on.The fourth part introduces the system's function frame and its service flow in detail. The system database platform adopts SQL Server 2005, which is of great convenience, scalability and the ability to integrate with related software. The overall structure of the system utilizes the network three-tier structure application system based on the browser way. The client uses WEB platform, enhancing the maintainability and usability of the system.
