Based on the lack of the Application of multi-media teaching resources of network teaching system, this paper offers the architecture of visual network teaching platform, focusing on how to effectively collect, storage, query, compound and efficiently use kinds of multimedia resources on web server, in order to combine the face teaching with web-based teaching in asynchronous teaching to fully use the computer advantages of processing information.The system design referred to the most recent development and research results of domestic and foreign universities network teaching system. With the characteristics and needs of the Weifang Medical College undergraduate course teaching, A network teaching platform based on Internet is designed and realized on J2EE platform in which UML language is used to construct the soft system. Linked to the object-oriented theory and software engineering theory, this paper uses UML and its modeling tool Rational Rose to visually describe the system and to offer system Used Case diagram and static structure model, etc. The system adopts the J2EE's many tiers structure, through the client level to provide the succinct human-machine interactive interface. Through Web server's response to the users' requests, the application server completes the computation and logical processing and the DBMS provides the data storage service. Further, the paper designs and develops some components for some specific module on many tiers structure and it guarantees the expandability and maintainability of the system.The system focused on solving the multi-media resources such as video, audio, animation and other media resources in the education system in the realization of the students on-line learning to achieve a multi-media support and meet visual lively and intuitive of medical study. Combined with SMIL, template-based multimedia management generation module is interface friendly, easy to operate, and allows users easily achieving a multi-media resources management.According to the real needs of a medical university tests, We developed a medical multimedia online test system. The use of XML technology achieves a random online test questions and a automatic score features. The online test also added multi-media elements, so medical students can distinguish disease with listening, practical test in the process like this type can realize in the network simulation environment. The system has also realized function modules such as the User management, intercommunication of answering questions as well as auxiliary modules. The system is test running now.This paper illustrates the key technologies in the realization process in detail: SMIL technology and XML technology. Paper also simply introduces the realization process of some function model and gives some new ideas and suggestions to the system finally.
