With the rapid development of the computer network technology, digital library has attracted more and more attention for its advanced and flexible information service style. Research on digital library has been an important task in the information management field.The problems exist in the management of digital information resource, the key technology and the development of the digital library at home and abroad have been analyzed in the paper.Be directed at the current organization of digital library information resource, this paper research the feasibility of using XML related development specifications in digital library based on full study of it and key technologies of digital library. This paper aims at research on resource organizing technology and construction of kernel metadata in digital library system, making metadata bibliographic by XML for many kinds of digital library resource, such as bibliographic resource, web page source and multimedia source. It also researches the structure that can be used in the management of digital library information resource. Dublin Core, based on RDF and marked with XML is a widely used plan in Digital Library. By the three elements put together, digital library information system will supply much more useful service to the society. This paper analyses how to express the MARC data and Dublin Core data, and supplies the architecture of digital library based on XML.In order to demonstrate the principle of the approach dressed in this paper, a digital library resource publishing system model was developed based on B/S architecture. The system provides search service. Detailed system architecture and framework of solutions was described. Methods and key technologies about XML parser, and how to use XSL to manipulate the XML document for different user requirements were also discussed.
