The Overall Design Of Cost Control/Benefit Analysis System For Banks

For commercial banks to have a good position and to maximize its profit, besides to enlarge actively the source of income, to enhance the controlling and management of cost is another important measure to ensure goal profit. The effect of controlling and management of cost is directly relative to the banks economy benefit, its survival and development. Based this, the banks urgently need to construct its Cost Control and Profit Analysis system.Based on the above requirements, using business intelligence and data warehouse technology, we collect data from the existing systems which involve in business and management inside the banks to build up Data Warehouse, apply modern manager science and software technology, implement an advanced management system of Cost Control and Profit Analysis which runs on the activity of the bank operating management in any tier, any catalog, any chain and has a main line of responsibility, cost and management.In this article, we primarily present the procedure of requirement analysis, design and implementation of this system, and its methodology and technique. This system consists of the modules below: a bank management information Data Warehouse which is built from various data sources; a data analysis platform which is used to analyze original data; a mature ETL tool which is configured and deployed according to the flow of business process; an application management platform which provides basic application framework and many functions including report management; many application system oriented to various theme application.In parallel with the deployment of this system, the banks have adopted series of systematic reformation on its inner evaluation, cost control, market marketing and other aspects. With these measures, the banks resolve data draw-out problem in any tier branch business department, any point and staff performance evaluation, help to build up the idea of benefit and staff cost control. This system provides accurate data to precisely evaluate the achievement of any tiers, build up multilevel evaluation data information centered by capital restriction and economy profit, provide a powerfully technology support for decision-making tier.Over one year's effort, the system has been successfully applied to the Agricultural Bank of Shandong. Its stable operation greatly improves the efficiency and was praised by users unanimously.However, due to the urgent design time, in the actual design of the module, customized adaptive function has not been realized, and the redundancy of database design and security also demand further improvement.
