With the development of uncooled focal plane array (UFPA) and gradual maturity of the image processing technology,the application of the infrared thermograph system becomes wider and wider. Aiming at disadvantage of high-noise, low-contrast,blur,bad vision effect and poor resolving power in the infrared image at present,the paper designs and finishes the real-time processing system of the infrared thermograph image based on FPGA in order to improve the quality of image and enhance the real-time characteritics,combining with existed processing arithmetic.Not only the influence of the nonuniformity is eliminated, but also infrared image has been enhanced and gets good result. This paper will be focus on the follows:Firstly,it discusses differences between infrared image and optical image and some aspects that need to be processed and strengthened in the infrared image,after giving out the cause and analyzing characteristics of infrared image. non-uniformity correction of infrared image has been implemented by using non-linear correction method, the noise in the infrared image has been analyzed and low frequency noise has been eliminated by using median filter which making image Smoothing. Due to the concentricity of detected Gray value and infrared data of 12 bits gray image gotten by A/D sampling, histogram equalization has been adopted in the paper in order to make Gray-scale transformation and enhance contrast of infrared images.In order to make out the temperature of the objects intuitively from images,pseudocolor transformation has been used on the enhancement of gray image to increase Resolving power of human eyes.Meanwhile,the advantage of FPGA on the image processing, hardware requirements in the system, the heart of CMOS type, the principle, structure and design requirements of modular circuits have been analyzed, which finishing the design of hardware systems based on the FPGA image processing in real-time and the corresponding research on high-speed circuit design from the aspects of layout and wiring.
