Data Mining is such a process that it mines some interesting knowledge from Database, Data Warehouse and other information warehouse. Data Mining is an systemic process, a mining assignment can be defined into several mining modules. But nowadays Data Mining System is not easy to extend, so it is hard for us to add some new mining algorithms to it.Web Service is a newly service-oriented technique in recent years. It can release an interface about its function and service to public, can automatically return information to its client by URL orientation.Defining data mining process into several Web Service modes not only resolves its weakness on expansibility but better adapts the dynamic change of its clients. A structure of data mining system based on Web Service is proposed. it defines data mining process into several single and related web service modules, each service releases an interface about its function and service to public by WSDL(Web Service Description Language), each service is registered on a common UDDI(Universal Description Discovery Integration)to better implement service transfer.The core of this structure based on web service is data mining engine. It uses SOA(Service Oriented Architecture), and it realizes the registering, finding and transferring of Web Services by communication with UDDI. Finally according to the structure, I implement a simple data mining system based on web services. Except for the mining engine, It mainly has several parts: the data preparation, the implement of mining algorithms, the result show. The users can select the mining function and mode of show they needed through finding the Web Services from UDDI.
