Mondrian is an open source OLAP engine which realized by java language. JPivot is a JSP custom tag library that renders an OLAP table and chart. Mondrian together with JPivot, are the two parts of the open-source OLAP Server architecture(Call JM as follows). Because it is open-source,as well as can integrate to various analysis system conveniently, it get more and more concern and applications in the business intelligence realm(BI). This dissertation is based on analyzing the structure of this open-source OLAP Server so as to do some research about its performance. At first, this dissertation introduces the knowledge about data warehouse and online analytical processing technology, and the development status of business intelligence software. Then, analysing the possibility of using open-source OLAP product in telecom area, giving out a detailed analysis about Mondrian's structure, explainning the structure of JPivot.and find out the factor which affect the performance of JM architecture is that Mondrian's cache can not response the query submitted by the front user in time.In order to improve the performance of system,an improved method based on Microsoft Analysis Services and JPivot is given in this dissertation. For verifying the accuracy and rationality of this method, the improved multi -dimensional analysis model is used in the telecom operational analysis system. In the system, relation database is Microsoft SQL Server 2000, presentation tool is JPivot. Finally, this dissertation takes a set of telecom related data to analyze and compare the performance before and after improvement, and that verified the feasibility of the method in dissertation, thereby come to an anticipant purpose.
