Submarine cable had been one of the most important modern communication andpower transmission carriers. This thesis researched on the proposal of submarine cableroute and burial depth detection; also it designed and implemented electronic system ofsubmarine cable detection.In order to detect submarine cable, firstly, it introduced several kinds of methods ofsubmarine cable route and burial depth detection. And it chose electromagnetic method ofdetection to research on. It made an electromagnetic field model of submarine cable, andanalyzed the relationship between the value of EMF and the distance of magnet winding.Specially, with the Fourier analysis, it expounded superiority in Signal Recovery, when de-tecting electromagnetic field produced by fixed frequency current. Secondly, qualitative andquantitative analysis was made to prove the correctness of mute and peak method in diag-nosing the route of submarine cable. It brought up three club detection model, which wouldbe used in route and burial depth detection. According to the theory analysis for three clubmodel, it presented the variations and law inside. Beside this, it discussed the behaviorsof three club model within abnormal conditions. In addition, it designed an electronic sys-tem to precisely measure the EMF based on the analysis of route and three club detectionmethod. With the analysis of electronic club and amplifier noise model, it discussed theimplementation of low-noise pre-amplifier in details, and brought up a design scheme. Thescheme was about using Digital Signal Processor, FFT method, low-noise amplifier, andhigh precise sampling AD. And it accomplished the scheme to be an electronic measuresystem of submarine cable route and burial depth detection.As the result of field experiment, it adequately proved the correctness of mute, peakand three club detection method in real application.
