With higher requirement for railway management and dispatch due to the development of railway transport technology, the management of railway signal cable network should keep up with the pace of informatization. As a result of backwardness of the management approach in railway signaling, the problems are caused such as interdepartmental miscommunication,cable information desynchrony and low work efficacy. Therefore, communication department pays more attention to the management and maintenance of railway signal cable. In order to ensure reliability and high-efficiency of signal cable operation and improve the work efficiency of the maintenance and management, it is necessary and urgent to develop a railway signal cable management system.This project aims to design a railway signal cable management system for Shijiazhuang communication department. Based on the analysis of the current management condition and the research of relevant theories, complete system analysis and design, the information-based management of equipment including the signal cables which improves the work efficiency of the communication department. Meanwhile, the automatic generation function of cable route graph and cable wiring diagram can also be realized.The main contribution is as follow:1.The data dictionary of the railway station is established, which can illustrate the details of the station, the type of the path, the specification of the cable and the type of the signal equipment.2.Realize the information based management of cable-related data. Design and establish the association among the data sheets, and achieve the management and maintenance of the information of signal equipment, signal cable, cable core and other equipment, through inputting the equipment connection between the cable and the front or end signal equipment and recording the core wire connected signal equipment terminal number and other data. In the mean time, it accomplishes the goal of information based management for all kinds ofdrawing data.3.Realize the function of cable route graph automatic generation. Apply the algorithm of depth first search to traverse the cable route and calculate the number of layers and the depth of signal equipment. According to the records of signal equipment association in database,calculate the position coordinates of the signal equipment and draw it with graphics class.Moreover, it completes the function of viewing details by selecting the representative block diagram of cable route, signal equipment or signal cable.4.Realize the automatic generation function of the outdoor cable wiring diagram. The diagram is a reification of cable route information. By determining the coordinate, setting parameters, and therefore drawing the the representative block diagram of signal equipment and cable core, the internal correspondence from cable route graph to cable wiring diagram can be achieved.The system passed functional tests and interface tests, which will be able to meet the needs of users.
