Research And Implementation On The Rights Expression Standard Of Digital Audio/Video Content

Since the rapid development of audio/video content service industry, the digital rights management (DRM) has posed one of the greatest challenges for digital content communities. As an important component of DRM, the most popular rights expression standards such as MPEG-21 REL and ODRL have well established the core standard of rights expression recently. However, the rights expression standards need be expanded based on the application of the various audio/video content services.This thesis establishes the core information model and designs the license schema based on XML technology for digital audio/video content rights expression. Moreover, the rights expression information model is simplified for the application of Streaming Server. Combined with these works, this thesis, from the view of application of audio/video content rights expression and management, proposes an implementation mechanism to transfer and apply the right information together with the related resource for ensuring security, which adds license management service to former resources management platform. Finaly, a conformace testing system is developed as a reference model for standard conformance testing, by which the dynamic procedure of REL for audio / video content is visulized.The new rights expression standard of audio/video content can be applied directly in Storage Media or Streaming Media, where the special requirements are met to protect the rights of audio/video content. These new applications and services based on audio/video content will get great progress with the policy's wide application and its future development.
