Web-based resources access mechanism and P2P file sharing technology provide users convenient ways of getting resources efficiently, but they have made negative effects to Digital Rights Management. For all kinds of resources such as digital video and audio, text, web pages etc, there are various protection methods concerning with different digital resources.This thesis focus on learning resources rights management in E-learning area, presents three kinds of rights expression models, and designs rights expression and implementation methods. Learning resources logically organized by different types of digital resources should be matched with Learning Object Metadata and IMS Content Package standards. In addition, it uses the Rights Expression Language (REL) to express license: the key element of digital rights management. Then it designs the rights control and enforcement mechanism, using a web-based prototype to make an implementation and analyzing the system architecture in rights management and plug-ins module.Up to now, there are no efficient ways of solving rights problem with P2P file sharing technology. This thesis proposes a scheme of rights management for learning object delivery in P2P network. It makes use of traditional way to digital rights protection method, pre-defined expression and enforcement through peers from learning resource providing layer to P2P network layer. It uses delegationControl element in Mpeg-21 REL to make an extension for digital license structure which solves distribution problem. It presents a novel means to embed license processing engine (LPE) dealing with licenses to each peer, from which the load of license server can be reduced. Finally, we give an evaluation for secure environment when the secure environment was guaranteed by XML security in license and Rijnadel algorithm used to encrypt content packages.
