With the development of digital medical equipments and their large-scale application in the assistance diagnosis, a lot of original case data and diagnostic information are generated in the procedure of medical examination and diagnostics.However, the resources are not made full use with the reason that they are stored in different data types and organization formats and are held by very few agencies.This paper’s study aims at solving problems about medical case resources storage and retrieve, organizing and storing structured text data,unstructured text data and image data with unified format separately, creating index for retrieval and complying retrieval method for medical case resources.At first, we will analyze the function and performance requirements of data storage module and retrieval module. Then we can design and implememt case resources storage module and retrieval module and test the two modules to see whether their performance can meet requirements.Storage module stores structured text data and unstructured text data based on meta data and stores image data based on DICOM information model. Retrieval module creates structured index for structured text data,inverted index for unstructured text data and high-dimensional index for image data. On basis of more effectively and conveniently managing data in resource database, structured retrieval of structured text data, unstructured retrieval of unstructured text data and image retrieval of graphics are implemented based on index has been constructed. At last, we will integrate unstructured retrieval and image retrieval into complex retrieval, so we can retrieve unstructured text data and image data at the same time and get a result contains both unstructured text and image information.The way of organizing and storing data based on meta data can resolve the problem of heterogeneous data,improve the expansibility of case resource database system.Data storage module designed in the paper could organize and store medical case data effectively and retrieval module could retrieve medical case data.Data storage module and retrieval module in case resource database system has already been applied in a research project of a hospital, the stability and expansibility have been validated in practice.
