The significances and the common computer color matching algorithms for textile dyeing are reviewed in this paper and the idea of mathematics modeling and numerical analysis is introduced into the process of computer color matching. In addition to it, the solving way of the computer color matching model is also studied in this paper.In the field of color matching, the development of computer technology and the color theory make the computer color matching possible. The traditional methods of computer color matching are based on the principle of Kubelka-Munk theory and the mixed color formula. And the color matching using tristimulus values and spectrum fitting are two main methods which generally are based on the Kubelka-Munk theory with some assumptions. However, in the practical application, the environment and the conditions in the color matching process are difficult to meet the theoretical assumptions in Kubelka-Munk theory, which brought errors to the color matching and also would hinder the development of the computer color matching system in textile dyeing enterprises.Based on the characteristics of the color matching and the mixed color theory, this paper analyzes and abstracts the main related factors in the process of the color matching, and then the main factors are picked up to set up a preliminary computer model of color matching in textile dyeing. On the basis of the data obtained from the enterprise, the research elicits the concentration characteristic curves of monochrome pigment, and finds the mapping between the concentration and the color values of the pigments using the non-linear fitting method.The mathematics modeling method provides a feasible way for computer color matching for textile dyeing. And the research in this paper serves as a new reference for further research and application of the non-linear fitting method for color matching, which is of certain reference values to the related theoretic study and practical application in textile dyeing too.
