The automobile is playing a more and more important role in our daily life, and it is developing with a high speed. Currently, since the national income increasing and synchronizing with international technology, the automobile is becoming a kind of common consumables in China. The development in automobile industry also drives the development in relative industry, and Auto safety system has become one of the most important parts in auto relative industries. Now, most domestic automobile factories buy auto safety systems from overseas with high price, so it is very significant for China to develop a system which has the proprietary intellectual property rights product.The software and hardware designs are basing on the Vehicle-mounted Video Monitoring System. The system image data collected part using TI'DSP TMS320C5416 as the core chip, and associating with Camera, the image decoding chip and Memory as the External instrumentations. The image displaying part is using ALTERA' FPGA EP2C5Q208C8 as the core chip, and associating with External instrumentations which including LCD display module, Memory and so on. The decoding chip gets image data from camera, then sends to DSP by YUV form, and after processed in DSP, those would be sent to FPGA and saved in Frame Memory. Meanwhile, FPGA drives LCD to display the image data in LCD screen.This thesis mainly focus on the display about image data, including design LCD driving module, Frame memory module, and the software programming. Through compare many LCD screens, the SHARP'S LCD module LQ057Q3DC02 which is color active matrix LCD module incorporating amorphous silicon TFT is the best choice. Then we designed relative hardware circuits and write software codes to FGPA to implement the communication between DSP and FPGA. We just use FPGA to obtain image data from computer directly to test whether the display is right without connecting with DSP.
