The development of information technology speeds up the process of medical informationization. Medical information system has been deployed gradually, and clinical information system has been modular used in some medical fields. However, the process of medical informationization is gradual and decentralized, the application systems used in hospital usually vary from platforms, development environments, technologies standards, result in that most of the medical institutions are still isolated islands of information. With the popularity of the internet, information-sharing becomes possible, and the degree of information-sharing has been the indication of medical informationization level. It has become the key issues of medical informationization to integrate and use medical information reasonably, connect the scattered and heterogeneous health information systems, construct a corresponding "Regional Medical Network" including preventive health care, medical services and health management. Our research of regional health information system has began since 2001. In this paper we presents a regional medical network software framework–PassSTU which aims at sharing medical information and resources within the region and inter-regional, provides a unified and scalable platform for cross-regional medical informationization, It integrates the existing resources, straightens up the data streams and simplifies the design. PassSTU is composed of Regional Centralize Layer, Data Gather Layer, Medical Information System. We analyzes executive models of PassSTU, presents multi-layer application extension base on PassSTU—dynamic extension base on primal deploy in this paper. Also we designs and completes the experimental platform and discusses the index system of PassSTU.
