Study On The Technologies And Applications Of Ad Hoc Networks Based On UWB

The mobile Ad Hoc network is a kind of temporary self-configure system that is constituted by the mobile nodes.The nodes are interconnected via spontaneously created, disposable connections , without relying on a pre-existing infrastructure. Each mobile node operates not only as a terminal but also as a router, forwarding packets for other adjacent nodes.This kind of network can act as the extension of the Internet or the cellular networks, and form a net by themselves, providing the service of the data transfer for the special circumstance.As wireless access network of the 4G backbone network, Ad Hoc network will effectively expand its function and coverage range.The UWB technology is a new wireless communication technology with great potential developing since the nineties of the twentieth century , and UWB wireless communication has become one of the most popular physical layer techniques for short distance and high speed wireless network. It has many potentially wide applications in wireless communication, the track on radar, and accurate ranging etc. The applications of UWB in military will give a deep influence for the communication, conductor and weapons control system of the Army.For the combination point of the two technologies, this paper researches the Ad Hoc network which uses UWB as physical layer techniques.This paper is composed of six chapters. The first chapter introduces the fundamental concepts,principles,characteristics,and their application fields of UWB and Ad Hoc network.The second chapter analyses MAC protocols of UWB-Ad Hoc network.The third chapter emphatically analyses a PSMA protocol which uses the pulse sensor to implement channel assessment in the large Ad Hoc and Sensor network,and concludes that this protocol is more suitable for the network.Combining the ranging and location properties of UWB,the fourth chapter researches the routing techniques of UWB-Ad Hoc network.The fifth chapter explains the typical applications of UWB-Ad Hoc network in the Tactical Internet and Sensors Network.The sixth chapter makes a summary to this paper.
