Wirelss sensor network is a new type of intelligent network which is the combination of embedded technology, sensor technology and wireless communication technology.It provides people a new way to obtain the information about the target region and object.Wireless sensor network is widely used in monitoring application and smart city.The characteristics of WSN determines that energy utilization,battery life and total energy consumption of network are the main research directions.Based on energy multi-path protocol,this thesis presents a new concept called node information transmitting ability,and applies the concept into flat routing and hierarchical routing to improve the network performance.1. It researchs the structure,features and application scenarios of wireless sensor network and introduces the key technology which has an important effect on the performance of wireless sensor network.This thesis focuses on the research of routing protocols.2. This thesis analyses the model of energy consumption of sensor nodes and presents an improved design.The estimation of energy consumption of the nodes is not accurate in existing energy multi-path routing protocol,which has a bad effect on multi-path choice.The improved design uses a widely concepted energy consumption model.There are two communication models :fress space model and multi-path model.It adjusts the communication model depending on the distance bwteen two nodes.With the help of node energy consumption model,the variables of residual energy and distance are converted to node information transmitting ability.The current node will use information transmitting ability to find the optimal path.The performance testing shows that the new design improves the performance of network effectively.3. The application of node information transmitting ability in LEACH protocol.The cluster head election mechanism in existing LEACH protocol is random.The improved design is focused on the cluster heads election mechanism.The network uses sink node to calculate the average information transmission ability and broadcast the value to all nodes.Each node uses the average information transmission ability to revise threshold.Through this, the nodes which has more residual energy and better location have higher probability to become a cluster head. The testing shows that the improved design has a better performance on energy balance and makes sensor nodes have longer life cycle.
