Parts Library, as the essential part of the CAD system, could efficiently shorten the designing time and lower the Enterprise Cost. And it is also the platform to share the information between the departments in the Enterprise and from one Enterprise to another. Networked Manufacturing is one of the Hotspots among the advanced Manufacturing technologies, which the core is to use the Internet in order to get across the gap between different companies. It helps the company to broaden the space, share the resource, realize the Complementary and Allocate Portfolio Optimization through Integration in Information, Process, Organization and Knowledge, so to shorten the product-development cycles and costs, enhance the competitiveness in the whole Industry Chain and Manufacturing groups. According to these, we can conclude that it is a tendency to make the Application of the Parts Library on the web and it is being a hot topic in the research fields these years.According to the problems within the process of constructing traditional Web-based centralized Parts Library, we design a Web-Service-Based distributed Parts Library System, which use the Parametric Design method to establish the Parts Library and through the technique of Web Service to construct the distributed System.The main works and contributions are as follows:First: This paper focus on the current pattern of web-based centralized Parts Library and analyzes the problems of this specific Pattern. According to the needs of enterprises we propose the pattern of distributed Web-Service-Based Parts Library. This pattern, form the perspective of system integration, will solve the problems of dynamic integration when distributed Parts Library works in networked environment. Using the techniques of Web Service, the functions of a single Parts Library can be encapsulated to interfaces which invoked in the integrated platform and so as to realize the irrelevance in platform and programming of system.Second: This paper studies the architecture and techniques of Web-Service-Based Parts Library intensively. The paper resolved the problem to encapsulate the original Parts Library. By describing the Web-Service process of original Parts Library, we make Web-Service interfaces for Parts Library components, so that it could be open to more application systems and meanwhile be better integrated and versatile.Third: This paper proposes the Preliminary problems of parts information modeling and parametric driven in a networked environment when building the architecture of the Web-Service-based Parts Library. On this basis the system, which integrates multiple heterogeneous and distributed Parts Library, realizes a complete integrated architecture from the three dimensions as follows: Services Provider(a single Parts Library which has Web Service interface),Service Requester(the integrated system) and the Service Intermediary(the integrated platform). It lays foundations to archive more complex cross-CAD systems and commercial applications in the future.The implementation of Web-Service-Based distributed Parts Library allows enterprises to archive the goal in resource-sharing within a smaller cost. Thus enterprises can gain greater designing spaces and more opportunities. The integration of distributed Parts Library will be more conductive to the promotion of specializing the labor-division in enterprise. This is of a great significance to raise level of China's manufacturing.
