With the developing of computer science and video technology, digital image acquisition is widely used in communication and signal processing field, such as digital broadcast, video in net, monitor and control system. As the foreside of computer video equipment, digital image acquisition card has the task of conversion from analog video signal to digital image. It is very significance to design an embedded image acquisition system, which is useful and convenient.In this dissertation, digital image acquisition system's actuality and future are present at first.Then I introduce the basic theory: data acquisition theory, and some basic knowledge of image acquisition.This article can be divided into three parts.In the first part, I propose the whole project program. I select FPGA as the main controlling chip. And then I introduce the basic knowledge of A/D converter,SDRAM and PCI.In the second part, I introduce the program in FPGA and the hardware design of image acquisition card. This part focuses on the connection of A/D' s outer circuit and it's usage. Also I illustrate the PCI interface and its control circuit as well as SDRAM.In the third part, I introduce the validation result of the system. I also introduce the PCB layout.
