Constructing The Software Of Web Log Analysis Based On PHP

With rapid development of Internet, web servers are visited by more and more people. Maintenance and security of websites have been a serious problem. With the help of web log which records the information of web sites'access, we can complete daily maintenance and do some scientific decision through log analysis. There are already lots of tools about log analysis abroad. The existed tools can accomplish deep analysis in every aspect of log files; also they can show users the result in report forms. Although with the advantage in functionality, the foreign analysis tools are usually expensive and focus on English UIs. Some report forms supplied by them are not suitable to requirements of users.The project mentioned in this paper contains major functions supplied by existed analysis tools, and it focuses on websites of the database resource center. Users can custom their report forms of log analysis according to requirements from the center. Report forms can reflect actual usages of every professional database or page in the center website. Also the project supports the daily maintenance and security protection of websites.PHP which has been proved successful on web development is open source. Also PHP has lots of free components which can be used to advance development. PEAR which extends from PHP is storage for applications and has lots of components to construct web programs. In the paper, we use PEAR MDB2 which can connect multi databases, and use PDF component from PEAR to store report forms into PDF files. We use JpGraph component to create curve diagram which can enhance software UIs.The software proposed in this paper can be extended as a website monitor system with PHP, not only limited to log analysis.
