With the rapid development of video streaming services, users have higher demand on playback quality of video in streaming media. Because of the high cost of development and low playback quality, tranditional client-server(C/S) based Multimedia streaming system can not fix the current operating requirment.People have empolyed P2P technology in Streaming Media Transmission recently, to support Application Layer Multicast (ALM). The ALM is divided into two classes: tree based protocol and extensions; gossip-based protocol, such as DONet. Tree based protocol and extensions define the relationship among nodes. But in gossip-based protocol, there are no complex topology relation among nodes, and it is very robust. So we use the Gossip-based model in our P2P streaming media distributing and playing system. We build a data exchange network on the ALM. 1)Easy to implement, as it does not have to construct and maintain a complex global structure; 2)efficient, as data forwarding is dynamically determined accroding to data availability while not restricted by specific directions; 3)robust and resilient, as the partnerships enable adaptive and quick switching among mulit-suppliers. In this system, the more users participate, the better media playing quality are achieved. The design of system structure and each module will be explicitly presented in this paper. Including the system architecture, ALM group management, media buffer and data scheduler modules. Finally, the implement of system will be given. The result of NS2 simulation have showed as successful evidence.
